The 100 Pips a Day EA uses two Simple Moving Average applied to open price in 5 minutes time frame. If the price closes under a 7 period SMA a Buy order is placed and a Sell order is placed if the price closes over a 6 period SMA.
How the software works
100 Pips a Day EA trading signals are generated when the price closes above or below a Simple Moving Average calculated using opening prices in 5 minutes time frame. The robot also includes a trailing stop routine as well as the possibility to play a sound alert when orders are filled or trailing stop orders are modified.
Main Settable Options
The configurable options of this indicator are:
- lTakeProfit = 31 Sets take profit for long positions.
- sTakeProfit = 35 Sets take profit for short positions.
- lTrailingStop = 22 Sets trailing stop for long positions.
- sTrailingStop = 19 Sets trailing stop for short positions.
- clOpenBuy = Blue, clCloseBuy = Aqua, clOpenSell = Red, clCloseSell = Violet, clModiBuy = Blue, clModiSell = Red Allows to choose colors for trading signals arrows.
- Slippage = 2 Maximum slippage allowed for orders
- UseSound = False If set to True, it will play a sound alert when an order is filled or when a trailing stop is modified
- NameFileSound = “alert.wav” Choose the sound you want to play for alerts
- Lots = 5 Number of lots to use for each trade
Technical Verdict
A very simple Expert Advisor whose main appeal is that uses moving averages calculated using opening prices, which makes this robot somehow different from others. In my opinion, it’s a good point to start building a more advanced strategy.

DiDi Index is derived from the study of arithmetic moving averages. Arithmetic moving average is calculated by adding the closing price of the currency pair for a number of time periods and then dividing this total by the number of time periods. Short-term averages respond quickly to changes in the price of the underlying, while long-term averages are slow to react. In other words, this is the average currency pair price over a certain period of time. Keep in mind that equal weighting is given to each daily price. Many traders watch for short-term averages to cross above longer-term averages to signal the beginning of an uptrend.
